In the beginning was "Word"

and Word was with Prajapathi

In response to one of my postings on Synchroinicity Fausto Intillus comments:

"Matter is a complex form of energy; Energy is a complex form of Information; Information...is God's Thought. "

I went to the Ayyappa temple at Chamravattam along with Soumya on the 5th.November. We went by car from Thrissur. We started at 600am and was back by 930am. Chamravattam is near Thirunavaya and the temple is situated on a very small island surrounded by Bharathapuzha. Legend has it that even when the river is in it's worst spate, flood waters spares the temple.

Chamravattath Ayyappan is our Kuladevatha (family deity). Our family originally hailed from that area. I vaguely remember going to the temple with my father and mother and brothers. I must have been less than 10 years old at that time. That means a good 50 years ago. I have been going on annual pilgrimage to Sabarimala regularly for over 20 years at this time of the year. (Mandala Kalam). At sixty years of age, I was finding the journey a little arduous. It was then that I decided that from henceforth I will go to some other Ayyappa temple nearby. That is how the visit to Chamravattam came about.

The temple is quite beautiful and very old. The Navamukunda Kshetram at Thirunavaya which is not far off finds a mention in Markandeya Puranam. Both these temples escaped destruction when Tipu Sultan's hordes invaded Malabar.

I suppose I am getting used to the concept of Synchronicity. Mathrubhumi weekly Vol.35 which I purchased on 6th. carried an article on Aryabhatta in which Chamravattam figures and the next issue which came out on the 8th. has even a beautiful picture of the temple. The article was a research to the birth place of Arya Bhatta and contends that he must have hailed from Chamravattam.

A thought is made to arise in my mind to make a visit to Chamravattam; suddenly it is Chamravattam everywhere. It is not that famous a temple that one expects to see the name mentioned regularly in the print media. To see a picture of the temple also is certainly strange and so soon after my visit.

"Vak" is nothing but Information and "Prajapathi" none other than God.
